The Stars of Tomorrow Competition is open to any musician ages 10 to 22. Applicants of any instrument are encouraged to prepare a concert piece for solo and orchestra. The winner(s) will have the opportunity to perform one or more movements of their winning performance with the Belleville Philharmonic Orchestra. Applicants may register, upload their audition video, and pay online.

Guidelines

• All skilled instrumentalists or vocalists ages 10 to 22 are encouraged to audition.
• Selections should be a movement of a concerto or other composition with orchestral accompaniment. Music must be memorized. Selections should be limited to under 15 minutes.
• The preliminary round of auditions is done by video. Make a video of yourself performing your selection before completing the below application. Submit the video by uploading the file to the application form or submitting a URL in the form to a public link of the video by 5:00 PM, September 18, 2024.
• Final auditions will be scheduled after the initial round of video assessment. Live auditions will be scheduled between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on October 19, 2024 at Belleville Philharmonic Hall, 116 N. Jackson St, Belleville, IL 62220. Contestants should bring a copy of the score for the judges’ use.
• For the live audition, the Philharmonic will provide a piano and core percussion instruments, but contestants must provide any other instruments required.
• Contestants must provide their own accompanist; there are two pianos available for use.
• The online application form below must be completed before 5:00 PM, Wednesday, September 18, 2024.
• There is a $50 application fee per contestant.
• Winners will be notified by phone on/or before Saturday, October 26, 2024.
