Orchestra
Today the orchestra is led by ad interim conductor Joseph Choi and is comprised of about 60 talented professional and amateur musicians. We are teachers, students, doctors, professionals, homemakers, retirees, and every other lifestyle imaginable. The majority of our players are those who play for the love of music and personal enrichment. Musicians of all ages are welcome in the orchestra. Students, high school and younger are welcome to join the orchestra but are required to play with the Youth Orchestra as well.

Joseph E. Choi is originally from South Korea and he has been living in the US for over 36 years. Maestro Choi served as Assistant Conductor of Asheville Symphony (NC], Evansville Philharmonic (IN), Owensboro Symphony (KY) and has participated in many International Conducting competitions and has guest conducted many fine orchestras such as Phoenix Symphony, Astoria Symphony, East Texas Symphony, Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra (Czech Republic), Beethoven Chamber Orchestra (Czech Republic), Knoxville Chamber Orchestra & Chorus, Daejeon Philharmonic (S. Korea), Jeju Philharmonic (S. Korea), Gangneung Philharmonic (S. Korea) and most recently as a guest conductor with Jefferson City Symphony [Missouri). Since fall 2020, Maestro Choi serves as Music Director of Sunnydale Adventist Academy (Centralia, MO), Maryland Chamber Orchestra, International Pathfinder Camporee Symphony Orchestra in Gillette, Wyoming and as New England Music Camp Symphony Orchestra Conductor (2021 & 2024) and as Assistant Conductor of Missouri Academy of Music Virtuosi Orchestra. Maestro Choi is a graduate of Southern Adventist University (TN) where he graduated with his BA in Music with Conducting and Trumpet Emphasis. He continued his studies at the University of Hartford; Hartt School of Music where he received his MM in Orchestral Conducting under the guidance of Maestro Harold Faberman and continued his studies at the University of Maryland where he served as Assistant Conductor of University of Maryland Chorus and Chorale as DMA Choral Conducting Major. Maestro Continued his studies at the Shenandoah University Conservatory of Music where he studied toward his DMA in Orchestral Conducting under the guidance of Maestro Jan Wagner.
